FAMILY LITERACY
FAMILY C.A.R.E.E.R.S.
A family literacy program that brings parents right into their child's school.
It includes:
- Families spending time together in literacy-based activities at the school that their child attends.
- Parents furthering their own education at their child's school by enrolling in GED or ESL classes.
- Parents participating in an approved work activity and gaining valuable job skills by being partnered with an onsite mentor at their child's school.
When parents struggle with literacy and life skills, their children have fewer chances for success. Family literacy reverses that cycle by teaching the families of today in order to impact the generations of tomorrow.
Family C.A.R.E.E.R.S. is currently available in Rochester elementary schools #6, #22 or #36. If you have a child inany of these schools and are interested in enrolling, call Paul Burke 585-262-8072 or email paul.burke@rcsdk12.org
